High falutin concepts never really pay the bills
unless they're intermingled with some sweat
so let me break it down - it's our ignorance that kills
the dreams that haven't come to pass quite yet
it's good to know about it
it's good to let it in
sometimes you have to shout it
to let the change begin
but there's a God in heaven who declares
His thoughts for you are higher than false airs
they're higher than your thoughts
satellites or astronauts
above the highest heaven
all multiples of seven
beyond the reaches of the universe
and yet He makes it clear within this verse
"I know the thoughts I have for you" says the Lord
"...to bless you and not leave you lost and poor
to give to you a hope and sure reward"
so let this word become your flaming sword
His Spirit comes to lift you ever higher
just as this verse I took from Jeremiah
verse 29:11
will come to pass in heaven
but we can have a foretaste of it now
let me give you insight as to how
most of us have heard it or we've seen
The promise given in John 3:16
but few have read the next
as it follows in context
so go there with me if you have the means
"...for God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world
but that the world through him might be saved"
now don't stop there let the thought be unfurled
lest your mind remain lost and depraved
"...and this is the condemnation: men choose darkness over light lest they have their evil deeds to be exposed"
so it's in this invitation that He beckons us do right and let the light of revelation show our souls
He loves you and besides
what have you got to hide
(your loneliness and pride?)
be made one
Yes oneness with Creator
what blessing could be greater
you'll find that once you do it will be tough
and yet there is a life more than enough
to get you through each day
and as you learn to pray
you'll understand the mystery of the cross
Jesus had to die at such a cost
to pay the penalty justice demands
(that's why they nailed down His hands)
the penalty for sin was death and hell
(so Jesus had to pay that debt as well)
what's more you learn this life comes by connection
to Christ's new birth and glorious resurrection
no sin in him was found
so God raised him from the ground
and now we are God's people by election
it gets better as you learn
that your soul will not be burned
if you let this life of God come in your spirit
it's like music to your soul if you can hear it
so he that has an ear let him hear
the coming of God's kingdom drawing near
I'll try to keep it simple
your body is His temple
and you need to let Him in devoid of fear.
