these things get old
or so we're told
the suns explode
orbits erode
the swirling density -- galactic center
blackhole propensity -- do not enter
a cold chaotic mass
a graduated class
a fornicated lass
more things which never last
the entropy of matter breaks it down
until the market chatter can't be found
the pitter and the patter of the sound
of geiger counter clatter in the ground
energy fields and molecules
annual yields and fossil fuels
time and power tools you to obey
by the hour fools, kings for a day,
the planetary LandLord holds the deed
and we are very unaware of need
we live as if surroundings will sustain
when all of these aboundings fall like rain
and elements do melt with burning heat
the evidence of selfish, incomplete,
adulterated living in the street:
a jealous lover spurned of love so sweet
his object of affection
raises funds for an erection
and it leaves him with no recourse but retreat
he was looking for protection,
a good booking, love connection
but investments can be costly in defeat
an unpleasant stock of merchandise to eat
and it looks as if your time is drawing near
all the power slips away into the fear
and the orbit trips decay with every year
like the sordid drips betray another tear
or the here-we-go-loop-delay take up the rear
and there doesn't seem a way to march from here
as the atoms split and stray
fast and furiously away
chain reacting on their course
and impacting with such force
catalytic, exponential
hyper-critic in potential
rippling outward from your heart
repercussions from each part
this is why I say to you
eternal fire must burn true
only one way to go out
with this love I speak about
new worth
new gerth
new earth
new birth
new life inside to end the derth
new joy and peace and power and mirth
this is how we save the earth
