after all I'd been through
didn't know what to do
that is just to spew that I hadn't a clue
I remembered the few that I had run into
faces all twisted and eyeballs askew
as I looked in the mirror what did I view?

I looked that way too
one nut short of a screw
the only difference between what I saw
and the countenance of the aimless outlaw
was I had some padding, some bail-out, some draw
I had a drumstick, he had a claw...
