2004-05-09 - techno-demagoguery sputnik was launched the year I was born western science sounded the horn the airwaves of the rock of dawn sent flying fish upstream to spawn the heralders of things to come: technology and one kingdom utopian well-meaning son (never a stranger to anyone) shed the cloak of self restraint and canonized a patron saint who was none other than himself duality of commonwealth depositing a demon seed the ego grew just like a weed and saint whatever found it tough to keep from dancing in the buff each time the driven urge kicked in to regulate the rate of spin long enough for all aboard a throng which couldn't be ignored points of reference, stimulus dots once connected gets the hots for the tweener space warp zones which indulge the vortex cones sliding into leaps of change as the norm turns to the strange bows and takes her by the hand takes you to some future land but the silver cord connects to a culture not so flex and you realize the dream is just fantasizing cream recognize the need to reach change to learn, learn to teach those who flunk the think-tank panel teach them when to change the channel or if they don't, to scrutinize learn to spurn, discern the lies, alluding to a high ideal one that seeks to help and heal fights to protect liberty gives to projects liberally takes their dreams makes them seem attainable to you and me ventures into future scapes armed and dangerous to escape any form of tyranny techno-demagoguery fiercely independant strain artfully transcendant brain this is what will have to be to prevent technology from invading every shore snooping into every drawer stop it where it starts to lurk wisdom's knowledge put to work that's not all I have to say I'll write more another day... |
