you walk this lonely night
on the boulevard of life-goes-on
as you behold the light
of what seems to be impending dawn
but in the darkness here
are some who would use it for their gain
before the day appears
and abusers have to reap the pain
of all the ways, unethical with slight of hand,
they take advantage of the darkness on this broken land
and don't believe there will be justice for this life
using this space of time to cause remorse and strife
but there will be a terrible swift judgement day
believe it, though it may not happen right away...
the shadow of machines now rolling toward us
is cast by something bright which won't ignore us
the likes of that which will not crate and board us
without a chance to not be roadkill
this dance with what we know as God's will
