so much has happened since then
it's a time of times of remembering when
the word was spoken into the soul
strongholds came down and we lost control

princes were walking while fools did ride
prey went a stalking while hunters did hide
all of it pointed to something inside
none of it mattered till all of it died

we are all but duty bound men
indentured servants adopted and then
we are all of noblest birth
raised from the ashes to reign over earth

fight to break free from your tremulous shell
burst from the ground in this garden of hell
bring forth fruition from heaven and tell
all the young saplings to do it as well

long branches reaching across the landscape
the tree of my youth stretches out to escape
shadows the moon in defiant repose
propagates seeds and gives shelter to those
finally broken and yet made whole
time won't permit the exposits of might
cleaving to light in the darkness of night
raised from destruction by one sacrifice
fall on the rock or become pulverized
