is this just a passion play
some noble point man gone astray
natural leader foisted upon
with the lust of babylon
tragic hero of boom town
leader of the pack beat down
outlaw just outside the camp
longhair shuffling like a tramp
champ who fights with all he's got
throws the match and lights the pot?
same could be said
of so many who led
some are no more
some good as dead
some waxed great and finished strong
but fallen... fallen... is babylon
the whole world cheered and loved its own
then dragged their hero off the throne
set 'em up and knock 'em down
to see them rise from underground
brazen clepto plays stare down
with all who dare to come around
not afraid to make a stand
dominates with contraband
unlikely hero
once a boss
back to zero
tragic loss
fallen... fallen... is babylon
fallen... fallen... in one day gone
once stood tall above it all
once so strong but not for long
tragic hero... fallen... gone...
but one child born to carry on.
