oblations like incense in offerings gone by
ascending to heavens upward toward the sky
the heart cries of ancients unknown
to a hearsay God on His throne
or was it a Great White Spirit
long ago it was told men drew near it
and they soared with wings of the dawn
till the garden domain was withdrawn
now we've heard there's reverb in the mass
and the echoes come back from the past
and the ripple effect has a way to reflect
and it comes back in ways we don't always expect
so it is with the prayers gone of old
all the prophets and seers were told
that the day would come as a thief in the night
so rock steady
be ready
prepare for the fight
tread the quells for the wave that will roll you to shore
undertow is the current that builds ever more
and it's all coming down to right now
let God in
you'll begin
to say wow.
