our outward ways are subterfuge
we're lambs among the canines
nocturnal in our stray lines

the ultimate true rub

reactive to the heat
attracted to the street
exactingly complete
the next big thing to beat
but while contenders do conspire
to speak from platforms of desire
to make withdrawals from secret fire
their plans will only hit the wire
like lightning strikes from east to west
the one returns to ace the test
I pity the fool and all the rest
who've not by him been blessed
who've turned away the gift
who didn't ride the lift
who failed to clutch the shift
and basically got stiffed
they'll have their day in court
the judge will hear report
and every other sort
which men's minds can support
and only one thing of decay
could possibly be left to stay
condemning them on that great day
