whatever chaos disorder can't fix
is subject to the random nill
and must be overcome with selfless will
to defend the child abandoned still
give alms to all that would fulfill
the balm of healing all the ill
and save the ones that hate would kill

This may not sound too clever
But say it at night when mundane plight renders you to never
you'll find there a strength to deliver
His mercy endures forever
even when time would sever
your life from the chord
that ties to your gourd
and keeps you from going wherever
Once there were these lepers
who turned into upsteppers
they said, "in the city
we won't receive pity
they'll stone us as soon as we're near
so what have we got left to fear?
though enemies camp round about
let us go out to them and shout,
"His mercy endures forever!""
this may not sound too clever
but those enemies stopped their endeavor
to cut off the city whenever
they heard other forces
like galloping horses
they abandoned their food and supplies
so the city was freed through these cries,
"His mercy endures forever!"
He'll do what alone you could never
He'll show you His might
when you come to the light
that His mercy bestows upon men
who acknowledge that God is a friend
who will always be there to defend.
So when you're cut off and dismayed
or you're alone and afraid
don't you fear the curse, see,
just call on His mercy
enduring throughout every hour
in darkness when fear makes you cower
you'll find it the ultimate power
a refuge, a fortress, a tower...
no matter what the endeavor
His mercy endures forever!
