2005-12-19 - Now We Begin
this furtive mystery
becomes my history
this clandestine debate
between the love and hate
in time the plot unfolds
and I'm loosed from the holds
but time's no guarantee
her passage, never free
the universe is bound
by laws which have their ground
in scientific fact
and principles intact
the heart is full of drives
affecting other lives
but love will cover sin
and that's where we begin
the sage keeps to his pact
to seldom interact
but love cannot hold back
it softens the attack
it takes the force of pain
it heals the insane
it shelters from the rain
it wipes away the stain
it washes like a flood
with Christ's redeeming blood
the sacrificial lamb
the Word of God: "I AM"
Creator through this birth
invading planet earth
thus stating what we're worth
He paid for all our mirth
He took upon himself the righteous verdict of our crime
He vindicated justice with His love before all time
He had to bear the sentence of the universal law
He had to pay it fully and without a fatal flaw
So he took the demands of justice which he couldn't get around
And he poured wrath on himself until the penalty was found
paid in full, satisfied,
willingly crucified
it is finished
we go free
love-diminished penalty
rising up - we're complete
manifesting death's defeat
overcoming sin's demise
in his body did he rise
all who join him in his train
find new life and here refrain:
love takes the force of pain
love heals the insane
love shelters from the rain
love wipes away the stain
of all our sin.
this child within,
God's gift to men,
brings birth again,
both now and then,
now we begin...
