what we need is Christians with guts
to bind the strongmen
kick their butts
blast them to debris
and set the captives free
where God's Spirit moves with ease
where prayer cures every disease
where the demons have to flee
where the strongholds take a knee
filthy flesh trades lose appeal
there where God's love keeps it real
souls get free from pains they feel
hearts unchained release their zeal
that place it still remains
down by the sidewalk stains
down there where few dare soil their hands
down in the never never lands
down at the slums and ghetto stands
sweet miracles occur
yes in those inner city blues
this message that we call "good news"
still breaks the fetters off their shoes
revival winds still stir
(God's power, if you prefer).
