2005-03-11 - circle of life
One of the most illuminating documentaries I've ever seen But I've always been a fan of the art, know what I mean? This movie attempts to gracefully shed light on the idea that Bruce Lee was involved in a fight a revolutionary who possibly offended the traditions of the ancients and was mysteriously repositioned feet first but not flying no more genius occupying somewhat of a magicless magician a perfect specimen of dead condition recompensed for the error of his ways In this, his real life by far outweighs (more intriquing in how it plays) a martial arts film made back in those days
This man's accomplishments must be known, recognized for what they've shown for a number of reasons: first alone, in that he developed martial arts, as they were taught in many parts which he described as reactionary, unrealistic, unable to carry out or to defend against the manner in which a true attack will commence: An attacker's pattern which he termed as "broken rythym", is something that can matter not regarded as a given it cannot be choreographed and memorized in numbers it flows from somewhere deep within where random action slumbers To combat successfully he utilized anticipating assailant's moves and twitching eyes intercepting them with direct and accurate, first-strike advantage, forceful movements, sometimes moving faster than thoughts can manage even beating the thought transmissions to the motor reflexes well, at least, it seemed that way, perhaps it's just perspective...
Secondly, Mr. Lee sought to improve relations to open up the wonderful plethora of civilization good fortune to the East and the West hospitality-ruled culture of China to the rest...
Mr. Lee also strove for excellence to bring more realism to the scenes and events higher levels of professionalism to the Asian movie industry and television which he referred to as a little "hokey" at the time but his life was cut short when he was in his prime. All in all, this movie only serves to whet the appetite, like sherbet in a small bowl before dinner is served, it leaves me asking, as I peer at the sight, hmm? what is this (it couldn't be dessert!) careful consideration of his teachings is deserved!
what more did this great man really have to say? what motivated him? can we become that way? can we harness such energy by studying his life and chi? Where will time, Mastery, discipline and artistry take us all from here? has that time disappeared? Will there ever be
another visionary
such as Mr. Bruce Lee?
All questions we must see
and interceptively
interpet for ourselves
That much Bruce taught us well.
