where have you gone
now that the earth's birth panging?
sweet nature's son
You had your fun
but now the reaper's banging
he comes to collect his dues
he claims you're his to use
you sang don't fear
but now he's near
and he's not in your shoes
you who danced in the dark
you encompassed yourself with sparks
you who sought the prognosticator
the medium and the soothing sayer
when you ought to have sought the Lord
is it your fault you were ignored?
nobody taught you or did they?
nobody sought you how could they?
now that the clouds of Mordor come
impending doom on your kingdom
fortelling of the dregs by drum
the derth of earth for all the sum
of curse for worse and deaf for dumb
trades for spades and low income
your warmth forsakes you now
as earth becomes the plow
to break up fallow ground
and make way for the sound
prepare the way for the One
while there's still time receive the Son
don't be left in the dust
there's no one else you can trust
the creation brings forth once again
the only salvation for men
deep heaven's one true desire
to lift up men's hearts from the mire
so don't try to light your own fire
the old world's about to expire
the mystery of darkness revealed
by light no confusion's concealed
derision befalls the religious
the lowly become the prestigious
the first now become as the last
the planet turns upside down fast
men's hearts fail as they're frightened
but such is not for the enlightened
all those who seek truth earnestly
aren't gathered into furnace heat
all those who seek light from the throne
of God are not left to their own
devices of self government
they fly to where true lovers went
high above all confusion below
but unless they hear truth they won't know...
and yet deep within
every man knows
to exit from sin
is our only repose
there's the commandments
of which there are ten
do not murder
don't steal
don't be covetous men
no matter how you feel
put God first and then
don't have sex outside of marriage
don't take God's name except in prayer as
speaking only in respect
the sabbath day's holy - do not neglect
and if there be any thing else
love your neighbor as you do yourself
and first and formost right from the start
love the Lord your God with all of your heart
all your mind
all your body
and all of your strength
otherwise there's the prophets who have told us at length
there's no other way to get back to Eden
unless you're the faithful who keep on believin
have you failed at these?
then come join the crowd
only those who're through Christ born again are allowed...
