just when I thought this was gone
at last
even after so much time has passed
sweet hold upon my soul
like a long forgotten role
in a play
that did stray
from the plot
then one day
I dare say
it returns in a way
in this play I must pray
a whole lot
and the gist
has a twist
as it's missing
in the mist
it eludes me
and it soothes me
just the same
and the essence of the theme remains the same
like an actor who appears without a name
and forever you will rock my hall of fame
