2005-05-04 - hallowed hollow hard to swallow
I still remember that hollow feel the one that I perceived as real when the civilizations fell each one went through their own hell but there were enclaves in the dark caves pockets of resistance somewhere in the distance... the guarded portal we're not immortal in carnal modes of change the disconnection of sweet protection at first it all seemed strange the universe had cooled and we could not be fooled towers of technology like Babel in the knowledge we took so much for granted the demon seed was planted and cursed within the soil of vanity and toil so much wiser then Atlantis and the miser men treasures lost and found again spirits of the denizen the deep and all her Sheol host haunting like a restless ghost cavitating in the churn some just waiting for the burn the entropy of secret fire the end of all that must expire the showdown of the last empire what comes to pass what men desire in the crevasse of magma fire burping up its methane gases ships in typhoon frantic passes one returns to file report one was swallowed keel to port bow to stern and hull to mast nothing learned and nothing passed rumored tales of latitudes sargasso weed and flotsam broods jettisoned horses in the feud ships deflagged, defrocked, de-crewed civilizations rise and fall each one conquers and stands tall destined to the rubble mound regimes lost and trouble found death doomed, tossed and mortal bound covered in the underground I still remember that hollow feel but now I know God's love is real
