this is that which is spoken of
so much more than a token love
a oneness and a promise and a home
an accurate nostradamus who won't roam
a solid place to stand
all else is sinking sand
and everybody needs to hear what's new
this isn't just a message for the few
so stay tuned to this station
for your evacuation
the rescue wagon hastens on its way
it prob'ly won't arrive by light of day
just keep those oil lamps burning
this midnight oil's for learning
though some just party on in the demise
they fail to read the signs up in the skies
now draw back the torn curtain
I tell you this for certain
apart from Jesus Christ you can't go in
there is no other bailout for our sin
he didn't want to go there
in fact he said in his prayer
God if there is any other way
please make a different plan this debt to pay
but nevertheless I come to do Your will
to take their punishment and to fulfill
the moral of Your story
to lead all souls to glory
I hate the cross but I'll endure it so
Your justice satisfied will let them go...
silence was his answer
sin came in like cancer
that which was perfection became guilt
the tradeoff set in motion
our death for his devotion
and there upon the ground his blood was spilt
and on that awful day
God crushed His Son to pay
the debt we did incur because of sin
we broke the law of love
but love came from above
to save us from the guilt we bore within
then bodily from the grave
this love God sent to save
was risen and returned to God's right hand
and on the way he said
he's risen from the dead
and takes all who believe into his band
so contemplate the path
your feet are traveling on
you were not made for wrath
for all your sins are gone
God's sending you this word
to let you know it's true
and once you've really heard
it comes alive in you
