a season, a reason, stranger than fate
a time arranged to accelerate
the rate of change, ameliorate
to sieze, appease, dispell the hate,
events would seem to indicate
it's up to us to vindicate
happenings loom too extreme
or so occurrences would seem

vengeance isn't ours to take
there is a God so don't forsake
the ways of love, they'll overtake
the evils of this shake and bake
but don't let down your wise eyes
eclipse yourself from drive-bys
circumspection radar trace
self-protection has its place
and you can't trust a smiling face
for cloak-n-dagger's commonplace
Vengeance is the Lord's they say
but evil prospers every day
the streets all taught us to obey
the laws of nature in their way
survival of the fittest
master what thou biddest
and he who fights and runs away
lives to fight another day
or if your opponent is big as an ox
you can win - just run and throw rocks,
and other such solutions
igniting revolutions
lost-cause war confusions
all forgone conclusions...
