with your coke bottle horn-rimmed glasses
and your hair a short cropped mess
and your anal-retentive mind travels down each avenue
that could possibly unwind and be a probable snafu
it's not a wasted hour because it somehow comforts you
to think your scatter-brained desicion is a humble point of view
but you're lost as lost can be each time you have a breakthrough moment
something happens to agree inside each time you beat the omen
of a paradigm around your mind, spellbound to self-redemption
but this place and time is so sublime I simply claim exemption
from your Jerry Springer, soap operatic, sit com show attraction
from anything that keeps me from some valuable interaction
with the person that you really are somewhere beyond those layers
the fallow ground is broken by receptive hearts and prayers
as they seek empowered wisdom steeped in love and understanding
and their words are flowered visions which are peaceful yet commanding
and you feel the earth around you as around the earth you go
